Sensors have numerous applications in the areas of, among others, industry, science, civil engineering, aviation, satellites, space and chemistry among others.

For example, sensors based on FBG technology were installed in a monitoring system designed for thermal protection of Ariane 5 launchers.

IDIL also developed (with IFSTTAR) a braided composite made of fibreglass and epoxy resin. This flexible cable was inserted in a bridge and in the structure of the EPR nuclear reactor.
